K04078 BARRACKS FORT DES MOINES 2 views in IA Iowa multi view postcard titled: Barracks - Fort Des Moines, Des Moines, IA - top one showing barracks alone and the bottom one showing the barracks and 7 cannons on the lawn / back: Fort Des Moines is the latest and most up to date government post in the US, being completed about 3 years ago. It is located about 5 or 6 miles from the heart of the city / divided back / postmarked but not legible from where but 1910 is clear / to Miss Alice Smith of Bingham, ME / there is a major crease that runs just above the bottom picture from the left edge to just right of the center on the top picture, you can see the place where the crease goes upward in the picture, bottom corners have creases and the others are bumped - there is some color loss to the edges/corners as well / even with its problems it is a nice postcard

B04290 - DESERTED SHOT TOWER Dubuque, IA Iowa, smooth linen postcard / back states: Built in 1856 on the Dubuque River front, this tower stands 150 feet high, with walls three feet thick at its base and 20 inches thick at the top. It produced three tons of shot daily during the Civil War. From the top, the view of the city and the river is beautiful. One may see the river for eight miles to the south of Dubuque and looking north, one views the Wisconsin Bluffs / pub by Norton News Agency of same - made by E C Kropp Co / minor corner wear

H03070~ Oskaloosa, IA HIGH AVENUE in 1907 This is an old undivided back, black and white post card of High Avenue, looking west from Seventh Street in Oskaloosa, Iowa / 1283 - Pearson-Ullberg Co - Minneapolis / postmarked same and Nebraska in 1907 / there is a shield with an eagle, arrows, grain and stars all surrounding the letter P in Post Card and there is a scrolling desingn running behind the letters (didn't notice this until I was putting it on, so if you would like to see it, use the contact/questions form) / there is wrinkling on this postcard (3 corners) and smudging especially one mark in the middle of the street.
