This is a very nice post card of Canal Street - New Orleans, LA / A1694 on front / there are trolleys, people, horse & buggies, horse and wagons, street lights, clock, building & store front signs: White Bros - The City Store, a sign that I believe says: manufacturers of lingerie ______ and children's wear, B Cohn Co - The daylight store?, / published by Geo Lipsher - New Orleans, LA - made in the USA / back of the postcard says: view of Canal Street, looking North-West.....The 12 story building to the right is the Madison Blanche, one of the finest department stores in the south. / 3 of the four corners are wrinkled/bent and there is a little color loss there and on some of the edges.

Louisianna linen postcard showing the fences around the Pontalba Apartments which probably were wought iron / back: Here is a view of one of the Pontalba Apartments, constructed nearly 110 years ago by the Baroness Pontalba. The buildings are used today in practically the smae manner as when built; that is, shops on the ground floor and living quarters on the second and third floors. The balconies on the buildings are specially designed and are noteworthy example of lace iron. The apartments flank the upper and lower sides of Jackson Square in the heart of the New Orleans French Quarter / 104-A Hirschwitz, New Orleans, LA - Curteich / divided back / unused / card in good shape

Postcard: Louisina linen Titled: Jackson Square in the French Quarter, New Orleans, LA Showing: the Cabildo, St Louis Cathedral State Historical Museum, Jackson Monument and the Pontalba Apartments Back: Originally known as the Place D'Armes is a monument to Don Andres Almonester y Roxas, whose funds built the St Louis Cathedral in 1794 and Pontalba Apartments, flanking the Square. The building to the left of the religious edifice is the Cabildo, best known monument to the age of Spanish domination, and storehouse of historic treasures. The building on the right of the church is the Presbytere, housing the Natural Science Division of the Louisiana State Museum. In the center of the square is the Jackson Monument unveiled in 1856. Jackson Square has been well Preserved and is under excellent care.
