Great vintage real photo postcard of a large row boat in waves showing 8 men in white, including their hats – along with a man standing up at one end dressed like a captain of a ship, all in dark. The hand dated note reads: 11-5-06 This is the life saving crew at the mouth of the Columbia River. Papa took this picture and I was glad to receive a postal from you and hope you are well. I am felling better now we have bin away all summer at the beach. Sincerely yours Bertha Co_ - on the top left is has: 371.18 St. Astoria Oregon and in the lower left of the photograph it has COE PHOTO / it is postmarked Astoria, Ore in 1906 with a flag cancellation with a 1 in it / to Elisabeth W Poe of Fayetteville, NC / there is a tiny pin hole in the upper edge, center – a small tear in the right hand edge just to the right of the spot that you see – corners/edges show just a little wear, but after all it is 100 years old! Would make a great addition to any collection!!
